Description

What is the problem we are addressing? Life can be difficult for those who struggle with impairments whether they be physical or cognitive. Our project aims to enhance the lives of individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities by providing practical assistance with day to day activities. The smart glasses essentially act as a second pair of eyes that can deliver real time analysis of the users surrounding environment. We hope that we are able to develop a product that can not only help people with disabilities navigate their world, but can also streamline daily tasks for the general population as well.

Technologies & Components

Project idea and how it will work: This project can be broken up into both firmware and software. The firmware is a esp32 microcontroller with a camera attached to it that sends a video feed to an android application. On the android app, we will perform real-time analysis on the video using machine learning models built with tensor flow and Google ML Kit. We will leverage these models to support various features such as:

• Optical Character recognition
