Project Synopsis

Title: QR Code Based Product Support System with Pella Corp.

Background: Nowadays, customers are looking for easy and efficient ways to access product information and support. Many companies still rely on traditional customer service methods such as phone calls and emails to handle customer inquiries, including Pella, which can be time-consuming and expensive. Therefore, we are here to collaborate with Pella to create a more streamlined and automated system that can provide customers with a better experience of getting support through their electronic devices.

 

Objective: The objective of the project is to develop a QR code based product support system that can provide customers with easy access to product information and support. We will be creating a website that is linked to a specific product with a QR code given by Pella. Each QR code contains information about the product and the customer, such as order number, serial number, product name, frame size, customer name, address, etc. The user can scan the QR code to view the installation guide and the list of all products in that order, report a damaged product and order replacement parts, where they can upload images to better describe the problem. The goal is to reduce the number of calls to customer service and improve the customer experience.

 

Methodology: The project will involve several phases, including information and requirements gathering, communicating with the client, Pella, design, development, and testing. We will be using GastbyJS for the frontend and GraphQL for the backend to complete the project. The system will be hosted on a web server, whereas using the API given by Pella to pull customer/product information and then send the forms to the customer service team in email format. The system will be tested to ensure that it is user-friendly, reliable, and scalable.

 

Expected Outcomes: The expected outcome of this project is that the system can provide customers with quick and easy access to product information and support. The project will be designed to reduce the number of calls the customer service, as well as the cost, which also improves the overall customer experience. The results of this project will be presented in a final presentation, which will include the methodology, results, and recommendations for future improvements. 

 

Conclusion: This project has the potential to provide significant benefits to Pella by improving its customer experience and reducing costs associated with traditional customer service methods, which can also improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. The QR code based product support system can be easily integrated into its existing product packaging and marketing materials, making it a valuable tool for Pella to differentiate itself from their competitor. The project is also a great opportunity for us to understand and learn how to communicate with a client and create a product that meets their requirements in all ways possible.
